We are often called “The Party of Principle” largely due to the fact that – unlike the two major parties – we have a consistent moral worldview and act in accordance with our ethics.

Libertarians strongly oppose any government interference into personal, family, and business decisions. Essentially, we believe all Americans should be free to live their lives and pursue their interests as they see fit, as long as they don’t harm anyone else.

Founded in 1971, the LP runs candidates in every election cycle all across the country. We represent an ever growing challenge to the entrenched political duopoly, and hope to offer the voting public a more reasonable vision in American leadership.
