Celeste Katz

Celeste Katz covers Election 2016 and national affairs as senior political correspondent for Mic.

She specializes in multimedia reporting on the campaign trail and is the co-host of “Special Relationship,” a podcast jointly presented by Mic and The Economist which examines the race for U.S. president from a global perspective.

Prior to joining Mic in January, Celeste worked as a political correspondent, columnist and blogger for the New York Daily News, contributing to coverage of four presidential elections, four gubernatorials and four mayorals as well as Congressional, Senatorial and state races.

She began her career at The Providence Journal as a state news staff writer and pop culture columnist. Her work has also appeared in The Boston Globe and The Daily Dot.

Celeste has provided political analysis in guest appearances on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, C-SPAN and CBS, as well as radio appearances for NPR, Sirius XM and the British and Australian Broadcasting Corporations.

She’s also been a guest lecturer, panelist and debate questioner for the Columbia and New York University Journalism Schools, NY1 News and the City University of New York.

Celeste holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Brown University. When not on the trail, she lives in Manhattan with her dachshunds, Pebbles and Pablo.
