Ildefonso Ortiz is an award-winning journalist with Breitbart Texas who has reported on Mexican drug cartels and public corruption along the border and in Mexico for more than 10 years. Ortiz has helped unmask corrupt U.S. law enforcement officials and Mexican politicians who worked for cartels, as well as drug cartel members hiding out in Texas. He is the other half of the Cartel Chronicles project along with Brandon Darby.

Ortiz’s stories can be seen in Breitbart News and he is a regular guest on radio and TV newscasts. He has appeared on Breitbart News, Telemundo, Univision, CNN, BBC, America TeVe, NTN24, HuffPo Live, and Oxygen TV’s Snapped. Ortiz’ work has been featured in various books including Charlie Leduff’s Sh*t Show,  Michael Deibert’s In the Shadow of Saint Death, as well as George W. Grayson’s The Executioner’s Men. 

When not reporting, Ortiz can be found training Muay Thai, MMA, and Jiu-Jitsu.  He is also a former power lifting champion and an avid competitor in various shooting sports.
