J.R. Havlan

J.R. Havlan is an 8-time Emmy Award wining comedy writer, but you want to hear more and he totally gets that. He’s not offended. Quite the contrary, he’s a comedy writer – almost nothing offends him. J.R. wrote for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart for 18 years. That’s where he got all the Emmys. He also wrote for the 78th and 80th Annual Academy Awards, hosted by Jon Stewart, and was a contributing writer to the New York Times best-selling books America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction and Earth (The Book): A Visitor’s Guide to the Human Race. More recently he worked as a consultant and writer for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and is currently the head writer of Black & White, a new comedy variety series beginning in July on A&E. J.R. is also a stand-up comedian who appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. His award winning podcast, Writers’ Bloc, is not actually award winning, but let’s face it, that sounds a lot better than just “podcast”. J.R. has a wife and kids who, in turn, have a husband and a father.
